Sitting in the shadows of some of the most rugged and beautiful mountains, Southwest Bible Camp has been ministering God's Word to young people and families for over 60 years by His Grace!
What is the Gospel?
Gospel means “good news,” and it is exactly that! Jesus Christ, God’s son, died in payment for the sins of each person, including you. None of us, whether good or bad, could reach the standard of God’s perfection. Since we cannot be perfect, we have an eternal debt to pay. However, Christ’s death allows each of us to receive eternal life simply by trusting in Jesus. Man could never climb high enough to reach heaven, so God reached down and became man. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Summer Camp
Southwest Bible Camp exists to be an evangelistic outreach to boys and girls. To accomplish this, the Camp operates four week-long camps for youth during the summer. These sessions provide a positive camping experience through which the Gospel is presented to each child.
Gospel Foundation
The claims of Christ are clearly taught here and the Christian life is lived out by staff so that each attendee has the opportunity to see and respond to the Gospel.
Conferences
The Camp sponsors several retreats and and an annual conference each year. The purpose of these events is to nurture and build up believers in the Christian faith.
History
Southwest Bible Camp came into being in 1959 as a cooperative effort on the part of various Assemblies in West Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. The first camp was held in Glenwood, New Mexico at the old "CCC" camp located along Catwalk Road. Since then, several camp facilities were rented until 1970 when the present camp property was purchased.
Meditation
The setting at SWBC is designed to provide quiet reflective times for participants. This gives opportunity for the Holy Spirit to rekindle the fires of faith in Christ and to encourage others in their Christian walk.
Faith
There have been many evidences of the Lord's leading and timing in this venture of faith. The glory is all God's as we witness His good hand at work in souls saved and the encouragement He brings each one.
